The Essentials About Large Format Printing:

  • The large format printing process is perfect for businesses of all sizes
  • Whether you're a small business owner looking for a small display table project, or you need a large-scale run for a conference, large format printing can handle it
  • This process uses large rolls of different types of media which allows for a finished product up to 50 metres, large enough for outdoor signs or large posters
  • Our summa (printer cutter) can cut vinyl stickers to any shape/size up to about 2 metres. If the stickers are small (10-15cm) you’d want to be printing at least 100 to be cost effective. Stickers larger than this can be printed economically in almost any quantity
  • Prefer round, star, teardrop, or custom shapes? Tell us any size or shape sticker you need and we will work with you.

Large format printing is the only way to print vinyl stickers aside from the traditional method of screen printing which is usually more expensive (especially for smaller quantities).

The Difference Between Latex Inks and Eco Solvent Inks

There is fierce competition between eco-solvent inks and latex inks. Opponents of eco-solvent inks say that the fumes require ventilation, they take too long to dry, the 'volatile organic compounds' required for eco solvents are combustible (susceptible to temperature changes), and the compounds are corrosive on the machinery components (so regular and thorough cleanings are essential – this increased maintenance means the cost is higher).

Since they take longer from print time to dry time, you’ll need to factor this in so your products are printed in time to meet your deadlines. Some of their strongest benefits have been their vivid colours, durability, versatility on most surfaces, and they produce excellent CMYK printing for displays and outdoor signage.

However, latex ink has arrived in the market and has numerous benefits for businesses of all sizes.

  • Dries instantly
  • Does not require ventilation (no fumes)
  • Non-combustible (it's stable for heat printing) – less maintenance so lower cost
  • 70% water, not oil-based – aka it’s eco-friendly
  • Can be printed on any surface - glossy projects, matte, synthetic, vinyl adhesive, fabric, decals, all of it can be printed with latex ink, and it's ready to go
  • Comparable to solvents in variable outdoor weather conditions – suitable for billboards, signs and displays

Our Printing Process

Latex ink is only available in CYMK (not spot colour) printing. Full colour printing of photos requires CYMK as the four-colour process requires mixing in ratio on press to create the full colour spectrum.

We mainly produce banners, pull up banners, A-Frame Signs, feather flags and teardrop banners, vinyl stickers and A0, A1, and A2 size posters but if you have a custom size or design you need for your project, call us on (08) 9331 3391 for a chat about your project requirements. You can also email us the specs (and photos, if you've got them) to gforce@gforceprinting.com.au for a quote or to ask for a consult on your design.
